Student Loan Information

Repayment Thresholds & Rates

Repayment thresholds and rates for student loans are updated annually by the IRD. Since July 2019, all student loan types have been consolidated under the same repayment system.

Annual Indexation

Student loans undergo annual indexation to preserve their value against inflation. The typical rate is around 2%, but in 2023 it was 7.1%. Repayment thresholds are also adjusted for inflation annually.
